Only a small handful of former idols from AKB48 or its bevy of sister groups have managed to establish themselves in gravure, acting, or general entertainment, though a fair few have also branched out into porn instead.
Whatever they do or don’t do, it’s hard to argue that their appeal isn’t based on their looks. And if you’ve got it, flaunt it.
One recent Japanese TV show certainly seems to call a spade a spade in this regard.
It got together former AKB48 idols for what was essentially an excuse to make them show off their busts and bodies for the camera.
The three top ladies — Natsuki Kojima, Natsumi Hirajima, and Mariya Nagao — were asked to stretch and lie in various fitness postures on the grass while they were measured.

Clearly the more voluptuous Natsumi Hirajima is the winner in the bust contest, though Nagao is probably the most alluringly athletic of the ladies — and who we suspect would be the most energetic in the sack. Can we have a contest for that?
The TV show was London Hearts on TV Asahi and the episode (～もう一花咲かせたい！～ 元AKB48だらけの非公認運動会) was broadcast on June 11th. The “unofficial sports day” featured 25 ex-AKB48 babes.
