We frequently follow news of Japanese porn debuts and there always seems to be something novel in the announcements, from college girls to hostesses, gravure idols, actresses, and so on.

But we think this is the first time we’ve heard of a professional mahjong player making the switch to adult video.

With a face like gradol Eimi Matsushima and the slinky body of an angel, Minami Nakanishi (中西南) has opted for a mahjong-themed, 131-minute JAV debut release (1SDMU00939), which came out in July from SOD Request and is directed by ANZO. Naturally it involves sex on top of a mahjong board.

Her breasts are, by porn standards, modest, but she makes up for that with her height and commitments to her craft.

Some assiduous porn fans have done some investigating and claim that Nakanishi has already previously appeared in AV under the name Sara Haneda (羽田サラ) — though it’s true that she was a mahjong player, known as Nana Miura (三浦奈々).

We’re not sure anymore what’s marketing, truth, or rumor. But we love what we see of the results.

We previously introduced the legendary porn impressario Toru Muranishi when a documentary about him came out in Japan — specifically, the last gasp of his major releases when he tried to create one of the most ambitious porn films ever shot.

The pioneer of POV shots and arrested several times over the years, Toru Muranishi is perhaps the most famous adult video director and producer from the 1980s and 1990s. That fame is set to reach new audiences with the release of a new Japanese Netflix drama starring Takayuki Yamada.

The Naked Director charts the rise of Muranishi’s porn production company and his relationship with industry peers, including the top star Kaoru Kuroki, and his development of unsimulated sex on camera.

In 1980s Japan, one determined man turned every crushing setback into opportunity. His name was Toru Muranishi, and he revolutionized his industry.

The eight-episode series also stars the nudity-friendly Ami Tomite and Misato Morita (as Kuroki).

“People have seen my asshole,” as Muranishi declares in the opening moments. “But I’m not embarrassed. To be human is to live as who you really are. In other words, adult videos show humanity itself.”

They, as the drama reveals, also showed women with hairy armpits.

Based on a nonfiction book, Muranishi also gave the series his blessing.

Curvy (well, comparatively curvy) former AKB48 idol Nana Owada will release her debut photo book and it includes a semi-nude cover with a “hand bra” (tebura) shot.

This kind of shot, where the lady covers her breasts with her hands and reveals plenty of side boob, has become a standard trope in semi-nude idol photo shoots.

Past examples from the AKB stables alone include Minami Minegishi, Ayaka Umeda, Atsuko Maeda, Rina Hirata, Haruna Kojima, Yuko Oshima, and — most controversially — Tomomi Kasai, whose tebura effectively ended her career.

As Maho Yamaguchi is demonstrating, there is life after AKB or its sister groups — even if you leave the group under a cloud of scandal.

Anticipation is high for Owada’s photo book, “Risutaato” (Restart), as she has already posed for some nice shoots that show off her voluptuous body. The 19-year-old Owada (aka Naanya) joined AKB48 in 2013 and graduated in 2017.

Though only a couple of alternate cover shots have appeared as a preview so far, “Risutaato” comes out in mid-September and we look forward to seeing what’s inside.

We recently introduced the great Netflix drama series The Naked Director, which charts the rise and fall of adult video legend Toru Muranishi during the 1980s and 1990s.

Now we want to look in more detail at some of the sex and nudity it depicts.

The choice of Netflix to show the series is an apt one, since then it is now bound by the strange rules of mainstream Japanese broadcasting that forbids actual nudity. Being a streaming channel, Netflix can do the subject matter justice by allowing some actual bare flesh on screen.

One of the most naked is the gravure idol Ruri Shinato — long a favorite of ours — who appears in several sex scenes.

The lesser-known yet beautiful young actress Misato Morita (森田望智) lets us see what she looks like masturbating in the shower. The scene also includes a realistic period touch in that she has hairy armpits (a running trope in the series). Morita plays Kaoru Kuroki, the eventual AV star.

And finally, ex-AKB48 idol and regular nude Ami Tomite shows off her breasts in a fun scene portraying the grim reality of an outdoors porn shoot.

The former AKB48 idol Ayano Umeta has gone semi-nude for a eye-catching and provocative shoot that really shows off her bust.

In the resulting photo featured in the current issue of Weekly Playboy, which is now delighting netizens, 20-year-old Ayano seems to be wearing no panties as she leans out of a bath, her shirt dripping wet as it clings to her alluring body.

That body is surprisingly busty for her young age and petite figure.

Umeta left AKB48 in March 2017 after joining the group in 2011, since when she has changed her professional name to Ayano Shimizu (清水綾乃) and tried to establish herself as an actress.

Several former AKB group idols have resorted to such nude or semi-nude tactics in an effort to launch post-graduation careers.

Recent examples include Nana Owada, Ayaka Umeda, Rina Hirata, Seira Miyazawa, and Maho Yamaguchi. Others like Natsumi Hirajima and Machiko Tezuka have gone further in gravure shoots and shed all their clothes for the camera — and then there are the ones who make the full switch over to adult video.

Only a small number of former AKB idols like Atsuko Maeda have built up genuine careers as actors.

Where will Ayano Shimizu’s career end up? She is releasing her first DVD later this week, so its sales may well prove decisive.

Oh, we do like ourselves some love handles.

H-cup idol Sayaka Todo (藤堂さやか) possibly has some of the most impressive curves, not to mention boobs, we have seen in gravure in a while.

After putting some DVDs earlier in the year and last year, the 24-year-old releases her first photo book on August 23rd, taking her career hopefully to the next level.

Like Ami Inamura, she’s a fan of baseball and likes to pose in gear. She can swing our bat any day she fancies.

Might queen-of-the-butt Yuka Kuramochi have some competition on her hands?

Some stories are stranger than fiction and Anri Sakaguchi’s is almost one such tale.

The 28-year-old, whose real name is Mizue Nozawa, has added multiple hyphenates to her name over the past few of years as her life and career has taken all kinds of twists and turns.

The daughter of a well-known actress and a one-time tarento herself, she made her unexpected adult video debut in 2016 to pay off her huge debts. This would be sensational enough for most people but Anri Sakaguchi is not most people.

She was then arrested in 2017 for attempted extortion of a bar host with whom she was involved. She had apparently demanded money from him in exchange for an intimate photo. The case was later dropped by police.

Though she subsequently announced she had quit AV after a handful of releases (under the name ANRI), she then worked as a hostess, stripper, and even a call girl.

And whatever she is doing now, it’s clearly not keeping her out of trouble.

Her alleged crime this time is quite minor and under ordinary circumstances it would be peculiar for someone to receive the perp walk treatment. She was arrested on trespassing charges after she entered the property of a boyfriend — yet another bar host — who did not want her there. This happened one morning earlier this week after a dispute following a taxi ride home. She apparently chased after the man to get the taxi fare back.

Her arrest by Tokyo Metropolitan Police made national news. We’d be surprised if they actually prosecute her over such a minor incident but, regardless, it’s only the latest development in Sakaguchi’s ongoing troubles.

With new legal bills and the like surely to pay in the near future, is a return to adult video in the offing?

We have continued to follow the nudity and sex scenes on display in the Netflix Japanese-language serial The Naked Director, which charts the incredible career of Japanese porn giant Toru Muranishi.

Following our look at the nude sex scenes by gravure idol Ruri Shinato and actress Ami Tomite, we will focus this time on the nudity by Misato Morita.

The lesser-known yet beautiful 22-year-old actress Misato Morita (森田望智) plays Kaoru Kuroki, the eventual AV superstar.

In one episode early on, we see what she looks like masturbating in the shower. The scene also includes a realistic period touch in that she has hairy armpits.

It is quickly apparent why they chose a lesser-known actress for this role, since it involves substantial nudity and an established star in Japan would be unlikely to agree to that.

Here are some other highlights. In one long sex scene, Morita does full-frontal nudity where you can clearly see her bush as she fucks Muranishi.

They have sex in a number of positions and there’s a great shot of Morita energetically straddling her man and also fingering herself — and this is all while the busy couple are surrounded by crew members, lighting equipment, and video cameras filming their antics. Now that’s professionalism.

Formerly of idol group NMB48, Miyuki Watanabe’s new photo book sees the slinky young lady pose semi-nude. The shoot includes the 25-year-old in a tebura (“hand bra”) pose for her first photo book in three years, Miyuki desu. (This is Miyuki.).

While the semi-transparent bottoms are rather lovely and there’s the hint of a butt crack, it’s not a particularly explicit in terms of nudity — no buttocks on display, just some side boob — but fans will still be pleased with the tantalizing glimpses she offers of her body.

Will this be enough to maintain her career after leaving the Osaka idol group? The sales of the photo book, which came out on August 23rd, will probably be the ultimate decider of that.

Is it just us or is Miyuki Watanabe starting to look a bit like gradol Yuka Ogura these days?

One of the most sensational stories over the summer was that of nude jukujo model Kazuko Iwamoto, who was arrested for stabbing her married, younger lover at a train station apparently after he spurned her for getting pregnant.

The details of the adultery and the 43-year-old model’s descent into what was possibly a kind of mental collapse are lurid yet also all too familiar.

Now the dust has settled, we can take a look at the career that Iwamoto has more than likely destroyed with her act of vengeance.

In the summer, just as fate was taking a strange turn for her, Iwamoto released her latest “image video” (image BD) on Blu-ray called “Adult Invitation” (オトナの誘惑).

Now there is a “remake” version coming out, most likely without Iwamoto’s direct participation and presumably using extra or unused footage. The producers are surely hoping to capitalize on Iwamoto’s notoriety.

The explicit video shows full-frontal nudity and plays out a scenario in which Iwamoto is seduced (or seduces the viewer) in a hotel room in the role of older office lady.

As the screengrabs make clear, it’s not quite AV but it’s still very much porn. Sometimes a woman alone is even sexier than a couple going at it.

It seems that top Japanese porn star Nanami Matsumoto (松本菜奈実) has a fan or admirer in the ruling Liberal Democratic Party.

The J-cup AV idol shared on Twitter with her followers that she was surprised to receive a notification in the mail from the LDP congratulating her on joining the party — and enclosing her party membership card.

She claims to have done no such thing and is confused as to how the LDP got ahold of her address.

Could it be a simple bureaucratic slip-up? Or did a worker in the party just really want to make contact with her, and abused his power to find out her personal information using government resources?

Or is this a stealth marketing stunt by the LDP’s public relations bods, in the hope of attracting new voters? I.e., they involuntarily recruit the porn star as a member and use her to promote the party to horny men?

Hmm… Not sure how effective that would be unless they could follow up with AV-inspired policies. Here’s one, for starters: change the obscenity laws so that it’s not illegal to depict genitalia.

Now that’s what we call “liberal” and “democratic.”

Private photos have leaked online showing idol Yui Yokoyama of AKB48 in her underwear kissing and embracing her boyfriend.

Needless to say — if the photos are genuine — this scandal certainly breaks the no-dating rule in her contract with management, not to mention will both excite and disappoint fans.

The three images leaked online on the night of September 6th. We don’t think the 18-year-old Yokoyama or her management have made a comment yet confirming or denying the photos. It isn’t clear yet why the photos leaked, though they apparently date back to when she was still in junior high school.

Yui Yokoyama is an Aomori native who joined the supergroup in 2014. She is a member of Team 8.

In the cutthroat world of idols, the faintest whiff of scandal can derail a career. We suspect that Yui may well be graduating from AKB48 sooner rather than later. When similar photos of Mayu Harada leaked, she was promptly forced to resign from Keyakizaka46.

Anticipation is building over the adult video debut of a lady being trumpeted as the “beauty from Kobe.”

Known only as Mino (美乃), the goddess has an insane F-cup (?) bust and will apparently release her first porn DVD at the end of October from Eightman Production.

Whoever she is and wherever she came from is irrelevant at this point. I mean, just look at that body. And at those breasts.

The hair nude (full-frontal) shoot photos have already set the Japanese internet on fire. Let’s now see if that translates into DVD sales and then an extended porn career for this stunning Mino.

If a job needs doing, hire a professional.

And that’s what the makers of the The Naked Director did.

For a drama series about the adult video pioneer Toru Muranishi, you need to include plenty of sex on camera.

We’ve already looked at the nude scenes in the Netflix series by the likes of newcomer Misato Morita, gravure idol Ruri Shinato, and former AKB48 Ami Tomite, among others. The makers even threw in a sex scene with a non-Japanese actress, Jade Albany Pietrantonio.

But for a truly realistic result, you need actual porn stars. And so the producers sensibly hired Nanami Kawakami (川上奈々美) to do nude sex scenes.

The alluring Japanese beauty is shown in vigorous sex scenes both indoors and outdoors (it’s essentially one extended scene from several angles). And you know you can trust her depiction of performing porn for the cameras, since the 26-year-old has a wealth of experience herself.

We like the attention to details, like how her bush is covered by a kind of fabric. This is the kind of technique that AV used before the days of pixellation.

After her sexual assault and the subsequent scandal that engulfed the NGT48 management in late 2018, Maho Yamaguchi left the idol group under a cloud of trauma and fury. She has, however, decided to return to the entertainment and idol world — but on her own terms.

As we reported last month, this involves a rather surprisingly provocative photo book. Given her history of assault, you might expect Maho to tone down the sexualization of her image. But it seems she is fine with that as long as she has management she can trust.

To further tantalize fans, now behind-the-scenes footage has emerged showing Maho delicately stripping off during the shoot.

This is no leak. It was shared by Maho Yamaguchi herself on Twitter and the short video has been viewed, at time of writing, almost 300,000 times.

The photo book, present, goes on sale from September 17th.

As former NGT8 idol’s Maho Yamaguchi cements her recovery from the mistreatment she received at the hands of the group’s management with her debut photo book, another ex-AKB group lady is determined to make her mark after graduating.

Previously a member of AKB48 from 2013 to 2017, Nana Owada releases her first photo book, Risutaato (Restart), which came out on September 15th amid reasonable publicity.

As we reported in August, Nana has chosen the semi-nude style of shoot to make a splash, including the classic tebura “hand bra” shot. In fact, though, the first leaked photos from the book, which was shot in Hawaii, show that Nana is even more nude than expected. This is almost as nude as you can get without showing actual muff or nipples.

We suspect there was some careful post-production touching-up (ha ha, not like that), where some lucky photo editors had to remove the nipples and other signs of genitalia. After all, we reckon you can’t do a shoot like this in a pool without at least a flash of something appearing in the final image.

Nana Owada is surprisingly curvy for this type of idol — attracting praise as the “new Sayaka Isoyama,” though we personally think that former AKB48 idol Rina Hirata deserves that title.

Regardless of who gets the crown, the good news is that Nana is a mere 20 years — and has now come of age, legally and professionally — and hopefully with many more such busy years ahead of her.

Ex-NMB48 idol Miyuki Watanabe and ex-AKB48 idol Ayaka Umeda did something a little similar with their photo books, but Nana wins the contest for us — at least for now.

We’ve had a thing for gravure idol Yumi Asahina for quite a while. We’ve, ahem, entertained ourselves by parsing her many photo shoots, especially the ones that exploit her ass for all its incredible worth.

She went fully nude for a hair nude photo book last year (her debut photo book) that had a seriously vintage feel.

But the 26-year-old, G-cup Yumi Asahina has also stripped for one of her many image video releases, which includes explicit shots of her amazing breasts and nipples.

In the video, the slinky Yumi also demonstrates how awesome paizuri would be with her bust through some closeups of her squeezed breasts.

Former AKB48 idol and now popular and successful actress Ami Tomite has released a new photo book.

Despite having several quite high-profile acting credits to her name, this is actually only the 25-year-old’s second photo book. That being said, it’s another “hair nude” full-frontal book, this time shot by photographer Keiko Nomura.

Her first came out in 2016 and was shot by the nude veteran Hajime Sawatari. This new effort is from the long-running Gekkan series and came out on August 30th.

One of Japan’s top adult video idols, Mion Sonoda, has announced her retirement from the industry in October, ostensibly for reasons of personal health.

AV performers frequently “retire” or “graduate,” though this can sometimes just mean they reappear under a new contract with a different agency and production company — and using a new professional name.

But this time it seems like a genuine retirement and Sonoda has announced the news with a personal message for her fans.

She entered the AV industry at the ripe old age of 19 and has since spent over four years delighting fans with her amazing breasts and sexual prowess.

The 24-year-old will leave with a major 160-minute release (TKTABP-905) from Prestige on October 4th.

Top porn stars in Japan have a gruelling schedule, with almost constant filming sessions, photo shoots, and promotional events. Since their careers are short and trends are fickle, not to mention the actual fees for appearances even if you are star are relatively low all things considered, they are made to work very hard to earn as much as they can before the flame burns out. This can inevitably have an impact on their health, especially as they are using their bodies in so many unusual ways over the course of a working day.
