We’ve always had a soft spot for the slinky, sultry gravure model and actress Moemi Katayama.

After some years in gravure, the 28-year-old with a G-cup is establishing her acting career as she enters her thirties and the jukujo phase of her life. Nonetheless, this didn’t stop her from doing a nude photo book a while back.

Even better, though, is the nude sex scene she did in Fumiko’s Feet (2018). You get a lingering look at her drooping breasts and she is inevitably asked to ride cowgirl on her male partner so the viewer doesn’t miss a glimpse.

The film itself is, as the title suggests, a strange erotic one about foot fetish, where a young man and old man both lust after Katayama’s character’s especially long and slender pins.

This seems to be a pattern for gravure models who try their hand at acting, only to be given roles that require them to shed their clothes. Anna Konno, for example, had an awesome nude scene in Ah! Wilderness, as did Yurina Yanagi in Junpei, Think Again.

Katayama’s other credits include roles in the award-winning film Shoplifters and the current NHK TV drama series Idaten.

It’s an open secret that “compensated dating” (援助交際, enjo kosai) goes on in the Japanese idol world and among even mainstream entertainers and celebrities.

Just as the casting couch exists, so too does the dating table. Idols don’t earn that much money and their careers are fickle, so they boost their income with dates.

There doesn’t always sex involved, it should be added, but it’s surely not impossible. It’s like a hostess “douhan” date (where the hostess accompanies you for dining before going to the club together) or services offered by “dating clubs” (交際クラブ, kosai kurabu), where the women expect some kind of compensation for their time.

Sometimes this gets exposed. The porn star Yuria Satomi found herself in trouble with the tax bureau due to ¥200 million in undeclared income over several years, apparently accrued from “boyfriends” who were paying her. The gravure idol Shoko Takasaki was caught receiving money for a date that ended with a trip to a love hotel. It was only shocking because it got into the press. She rode the wave of the scandal all the way to become Shoko Takahashi, now one of the top adult video stars in Japan.

A Japanese TV show once shared some industry estimates for how much a dinner date costs with certain idols.

The names were only represented by initials (in Japanese name order), but these in combination with the descriptions are enough to give the game away.

The prices seem a little low for, say, Watanabe, considering what a big (no pun) star she is, but maybe paying for a date with her is a little different to paying her to endorse your brand in an advertising campaign. Besides, perhaps the fee is lower because the cost of the food consumed will be disproportionately higher when she’s ordering!

Having published a nude photo book last year, gravure idol Yumi Asahina (朝比奈祐未) may not have many places to go except adult video or establishing herself as a mainstream actress.

Regardless of her future, she has one amazing asset: her ass.

Only a small handful of former idols from AKB48 or its bevy of sister groups have managed to establish themselves in gravure, acting, or general entertainment, though a fair few have also branched out into porn instead.

Whatever they do or don’t do, it’s hard to argue that their appeal isn’t based on their looks. And if you’ve got it, flaunt it.

One recent Japanese TV show certainly seems to call a spade a spade in this regard.

It got together former AKB48 idols for what was essentially an excuse to make them show off their busts and bodies for the camera.

The three top ladies — Natsuki Kojima, Natsumi Hirajima, and Mariya Nagao — were asked to stretch and lie in various fitness postures on the grass while they were measured.

We don’t seem to see enough of slinky gravure idol Saki Suzuki these days. Her gravure career might well have lost some of its luster of late but her recent appearance in a TV drama episode has more than made up for her absence from the pages of the weekly magazines.

In the most recent episode of Iyasaretai Otoko (Man Who Wants to be Healed) on TV Tokyo, a male character stumbles upon Suzuki’s characters on all fours.

Perhaps for reasons that don’t need explaining, he immediately hallucinates her scrubbing the floor in her underwear.

The grimmer reality is that Suzuki’s character is a dourly dressed cleaning lady.

Subtle, this ain’t, as the lingering closeups of Suzuki’s buttocks attest. Still, this is a Japanese TV drama, so what do you expect?

A few weeks ago, Japanese netizens were fascinated by the bloody and cautionary tale of “too cute” Yuka Takaoka, who was arrested for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend with a kitchen knife in Shinjuku.

The latest gruesome episode of romance gone very badly wrong is interesting to us at Tokyo Kinky because of who the alleged perpetrator is.

Kazuko Iwamoto (岩本和子) was arrested for apparently attacking her married lover with a utility knife in the resort town of Atami, west of Tokyo.

The 43-year-old Iwamoto was reportedly incensed when she found that her male lover was in fact married. The attack happened in May but has only now appeared in the news. Apparently Iwamoto chased her younger lover from a Shinkansen train platform and up the stairs to the ticket gates, where she then slashed his right cheek.

The stunning jukujo is a mature idol who posed for “hair nude” (full-frontal) photo shoots published in April 2019 and in 2018. She shot to fame in 2012 when she won a “beauty witch” contest, and has since released various nude “image DVD” and photo books.

Apparently Iwamoto posted a scan of a foetus on her social media account three days prior to the incident, indicating that she is pregnant. But according to Shukan Bunshun, which has broken the story, the man, who is nine years younger, gave no response when she told him and she then started to suspect that he was actually married to someone else. When they met at Atami Station, he finally admitted the truth and her reaction was angry, to say the least.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned! If you’re going to jilt someone, don’t make it someone like Iwamoto!

Iwamoto has just completed her first starring role in a feature film.

On June 19th, Miru Shiroma of AKB48 sister group NMB48 releases her first photo book “Love Rush.” As a preview and promo of what’s inside, the current issue of weekly tabloid Shukan Playboy has a double-sided cover with an alluring shot of the popular idol without a top on and her breasts covered by her hair.

Is this a kind of pun? As in, a “hair nude” without the nudity — just the hair? It’s also a sort of update on the usual “hand bra” shot.

There was already buzz about Miru’s “busty” debut photo book back in the spring when some images and details about the Australian shoot emerged. With the Weekly Playboy cover, though, we expect interest to go through the roof.

“Love Rush” also showcases Miru’s curvy butt, though her cheeks look a little red. Too much sun, perhaps. Or maybe from spanking? Those guys Down Under can get a bit rough at times…

A gravure idol has landed herself in hot water by participating in a semi-nude photo shoot where the actual location was identifiable. Not such a bigger, you might think, except that it was the family-friendly, mega brand that is Disney.

In the photos taken of Mika Tanaka (田中みか) posing alluring in a hotel room in her underwear or in the buff, you can make out the location through the window.

When images surfaced online, netizens were quick to point out that it was clearly shot at a Tokyo Disneyland hotel.

The media even went so far as to contact the hotel operator, who responded by asking guests to refrain from such activities because it causes a “nuisance” to others at the resort. Well, in our eyes, at least, this kind of photo shoot is anything but a nuisance.

Tanaka posted the images on her Instagram feed, which enjoys some 450,000 followers, on June 18th.

After the images went viral on Twitter, Tanaka deleted the pictures and apologised for any offense. None taken, Mika! Keep it up, is what we say.

Fresh from her nude sex scene on film, Moemi Katayama is continuing her gravure comeback with a new image video DVD release out this month called “take me, with you” (sic).

The 90-minute release sees Moemi lounging around in a sunny setting, showing off her tall body in a bikini and see-through black bodysuit, or bathing in a pool of red petals.

She also looks absolutely stunning in a wedding lingerie set as well as dressed as a mermaid.

Only the sales will decide if we get to enjoy more videos and shoots like this in the future. So if we more of this, we should probably go out and buy the DVD.

We recently shared the tale of the female elementary school teacher who was exposed for her amateur porn performer past.

Weekly Spa! magazine has published a special “mook” featuring five gravure idols.

The concept for each shoot is that the viewer is on a date with the lovely women — something which is not impossible, the rumors say, along as you have enough money to burn…

On sale locally since July 4th, the mook cover is graced by Tokyo Kinky favorite Mariya Nagao, formerly of AKB48.

The other four “dates” are with Mayu Koseta, Yuki Fujiki, Asuka Kishi, and Shiori Usui.

In her alluring shoot, Mariya Nagao is pictured drinking in a stylish bar before retreating to a hotel room to pull up her skirt and show off her sexy panties and stunning legs.

And for a different kind of scenario entirely, Mariya once again reveals a sportier side to herself with a nice shot on a climbing wall. She previously showed off her athletic talents during an idol “sports day” TV show.

The former AKB48 idol and now gravure model Rina Hirata (平田梨奈) releases her first DVD and Blu-ray, “Hirari Time,” on July 20th. To promote it, Rina has posed semi-nude, covering her F-cup breasts with her hands.

The 21-year-old joined AKB48 in 2011 and graduated in 2016. She previously released two VR videos in February of this year, in one of which she was shown in alluringly red lingerie amply showing off her butt. It was enthusiastically compared to porn.

By AKB standards, Hirata has a curvier-than-average body and boy, are we not complaining about that. We have noticed, though, that the marketing now says she is an F-cup, whereas before she was meant to be a G-cup.

She’s also unusual in that she’s a haafu — kinda. Her mother is Japanese and her Japanese-American dad is from Arizona. She was born in America and grew up in Fukuoka, but initially her English was stronger than her Japanese when she first came to these shores. And we are eternally grateful to her for sticking through those tough times and becoming an idol.

Oh, Japanese porn and your parodic tendencies, is nothing safe from your tentacles?

From a real-life sexual assault on a peer to a wacky TV commercial and even a hit zombie movie, AV consistently finds new subject matters to parody and imitate.

But this is the first kids’ show that we’ve seen parodied in this way.

Out this month on the Million label, a new AV starring Kizuna Sakura (84mkmp00284) shamelessly parodies the NHK TV quiz show Chiko-chan ni shikarareru! (Chiko-chan will scold you).

The appeal of the latter is mostly down to the central character, a five-year-old girl who yells at people with a signature catchphrase: “Don’t sleep through life.” She also has a unique kind of voice that you can copy if you use this “voice changer” toy.

In the 150-minute porn version, the catchphrase is “Don’t orgasm through life.” One of the contestants on the fake quiz show in the AV is none other than the hardworking actor Shimiken.

Unfortunately the preview images are terrible but we think you get the general gist of the proceedings. This is most definitely not a kids’ show anymore!

Is this a lawsuit in the making?

Searching out the finest examples of Japanese female asses is one of our ongoing obsessions, as regular readers will no doubt know, and here we share the latest fruits of this intensive and noble research project.

After developing a gravure idol career for some time, slinky yet busty 20-year-old Yuka Ogura (小倉優香) is set to take things to the next level with a nude shoot for the latest issue of Weekly Playboy.

It’s not especially explicit, as is typical for the weekly tabloid, but Yuka shows off her pert butt by lying down flat. This is perfectly timed just as the weather in Tokyo has really heated up and everyone wants to spend their days lounging around naked.

Yuka Ogura is one of those iyashi-kei idols — “healing” idols whose gentle smiles and girl-next-door looks have universal appeal.

The photo shoot is a promo/preview for her new photo book “Jajauma” (Shueisha). After the shoot, Yuka announced that she would no longer do swimsuit shoots for weeklies and manga magazines — which some people have interpreted as a retirement from gravure altogether. She has since clarified at a launch event for the photo book over the weekend that she will no longer do cover shoots in swimsuits but won’t be turning her back on the industry that made her famous.

So hopefully this won’t actually be her final gravure shoot and we can look forward to more photos of Yuka looking her usual stunning self…

Print publishing is in dire straits, so people have said for years now, and magazines and newspapers have particularly struggled. Titles large and small have folded or seriously downsized.

Even Japan’s mammoth adult video and porn industry — often said to be the largest of its kind in the world — is not immune to this downward trend, even though DVD sales are still relatively healthy.

The eponymous magazine put out by porn giant Soft on Demand will end with the September issue. Issue 99 features a suitably commemorative cover featuring multiple eleven top Japanese porn stars in revealing swimwear — perfect for the summer. How many do you recognize?

Fine ladies featured in the issue include Mana Sakura, Asumi Yoshioka, Meru Ishihara, and recent debutant Chiharu Minagawa. It is the end of an era: the massively popular Sakura herself has appeared in the magazine 13 previous times.

The last issue also includes a “history” of all the previous covers, from June 2011 to this current and final one.

The monthly SOD DVD Magazine comes/came with a DVD for a very affordable ¥580 — the economics of this might be one reason that SOD decided it didn’t make financial sense to keep it going — and this final issue is already being snapped up quick by fans — who are mourning the loss of this AV institution.

The increasingly anti-porn situation at convenience stores may also be another factor responsible for the demise of SOD DVD Magazine. We may look back on this as a veritable golden age in which we could buy porn mags and DVDs in the local conbini. If the 2020 Olympics organizers get their way, this will all be hidden in the near future.

We wrote earlier this week about gravure idol Yuka Ogura’s sad decision to stop doing magazine cover shoots, which she announced with the launch of her new photo book. Fans got excited about the prospect of seeing Yuka’s butt, which was glimpsed in the preview images.

Now more images from Ogura’s new photo book, “Jajauma” (Shueisha), have appeared online and they continue the trend: Ogura is nude in the shoots, happily showing off her pert buttocks for her fans.

Though famously busty, it doesn’t look like Yuka is ready to show off her full breasts to the world just yet. The most we seem to get is some side book.

Unfortunately only a few bad scans seem available at the time of writing. We might have to make a trip to the store to check out the actual book over the weekend.

The sexual assault in December 2018 of Maho Yamaguchi shocked fans and the idol industry, exposing the mismanagement and abuse of the performers in Japan.

Yamaguchi was forced to apologise for the incident but, appalled at the treatment she received by her handlers, quit the Niigata idol group NGT48, which is part of the AKB48 network. The actual assault itself then received a very different kind of treatment: inspiring its own parody adult video release earlier this year starring a former NMB48 idol Risako Okada, who now performs porn under the name Miko Matsuda.

You might be forgiven for thinking that 23-year-old Mahohon (as she is known to fans) would avoid a further career as an idol (music or otherwise), especially one that called for her to sexualize her body.

Instead it seems she is determined now to take control over her flesh and physical appeal, if the preview image from her upcoming photo book is anything to go by. Some have expressed surprise that it is a quite provocative, sexy shot, considering Mahohon’s recent experiences.

Yamaguchi’s debut photo book, to be released on her 24th birthday in September, was announced in late July and is her first major professional activity since she graduated from NGT48 earlier in May of this year. Later that month she joined a major talent agency that has several famous actresses on its roster. She would appear intent on using the negative experience of the past few months as a platform to jump up to bigger and better things. Go girl!

The Japanese YouTuber Sakikichi has made her gravure idol shoot debut in the July 13th issue of Weekly Playboy.

Known for videos about food and fashion, Sakikichi has an alluring, almost otherworldly beauty that is well used in the five-page shoot.

Having already attracted over 17 million YouTube video views and 125,000 subscribers, Sakikichi is hoping to attract a new kind of fandom with this somewhat unexpected career shift.

She even made a video for her channel showing some of behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot.
